Project Overview
I was hired to maintain a website for a sailboat condominium, called the Dockominium, in Michigan at Toledo Beach. The site was suffering from a lack of maintenance and was in need of a refresh. The site needed to be a simple, clean, and easy to maintain website. The site needed to be able to handle a moderate amount of traffic, and be able to handle the upload of documents and images.
Technical Challenges
At the time I took over, it was hosted on an account that was not being maintained. I had to migrate the site to a new hosting account and rebuilt the PHP as an MVC form with a simple member login and access to documents and slip rentals. The original DNS and email were causing a lot of headaches, so I setup a new DNS and email account with the new provider. Email is included so setup was a breeze. On the previous host, they had to pay for the email. Now it is easy to add the officers with their own accounts.
